Watchdog says jet fuel prices in Russia fall in last two months

MOSCOW, Aug 3 (PRIME) -- Prices for jet fuel in Russia have slightly fallen over the past two months, and the current situation at Moscow airports is stable, the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s Deputy Director Anatoly Golomolzin told PRIME on Friday.

“There has been a sideways trend of price changes for the past two months, which means that prices are not growing, they are even slightly decreasing during this time… We have the bulk of traffic being carried through the Moscow air hub. Correspondingly, in the Moscow air hub and all airports of the federal importance the situation is stable, favorable, as well as in other places of jet fuel consumption,” he said.

There are several fuel filling complexes at all airports of federal importance, he added.

The current situation with jet fuel prices can’t have an additional impact on the price of air plane tickets, Golomolzin also said. The price of aircraft leasing and a seasonal demand are the main factors for air plane ticket price dynamics, he added.

In late June, President Vladimir Putin ordered the antimonopoly service to organize a monitoring of prices for jet fuel and air plane tickets to avoid their unjustified growth.
